I’ve been waiting for this video to come out for months. Musiq is always representing the ladies. So when I heard the video for his new single, Yes, would focus on breast cancer awareness…I knew Musiq would tenderly and lovingly shine the light on a disease that has affected so many of his fans.
In the video his love-interest, played by Jasmine Burke, is living with breast cancer. It takes you through all the phases of her battle with breast cancer with her love…always by her side. The video features breast cancer survivors wearing t-shirts, pins, and pink ribbons associated with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Yes appears on his lastest release MusiqInTheMagiq.
Musiq is taking the awareness to the next level by becoming an Ambassador for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Circle of Promise.
Music on early detection:
“Early detection is the key to winning the fight against breast cancer,” he said. “Too often, black women are diagnosed in stage three and four when breast cancer is most difficult to treat. Some women are afraid to seek treatment for fear of losing their breasts or their hair. One’s physical appearance is much less important than the will to live. It’s time to remove the stigmas that are attached to this disease.”
